Therapy is an investment in ourselves, and to ensure our service best suits your needs, your first session is a Free assessment lasting for 60 minutes. This is an opportunity to identify what your concerns are, whether or not counselling could help you work through your difficulties, or whether another service might be more suitable. During your assessment, you may also ask any questions you have about counselling.
If after your initial appointment you decide that you would like to begin a course of counselling, you will be allocated to a counsellor and offered a block of 6 further sessions which you can take weekly or fortnightly, on an Open-Price basis.
Open-Price Sessions are charged on a sliding scale of £10 to £45 according to your ability to pay You can pay for your session online by choosing the price you wish to pay from £10.
The service is delivered on a trust basis – we will not ask you to provide details of your income – and the amount you pay can go up or down if your circumstances change, subject to the minimum fee of £10 per session. Payment is made online via secure payment

How it Works
One 60 minutes initial assessment session followed by a further 6 sessions booked either weekly or fortnightly, whichever suits you best. At regular intervals, your counsellor will invite you to think about whether you are getting what you want from the counselling and how best to use the remaining sessions.
If at the end of counselling, you and your counsellor feel you would benefit from longer-term therapy, we will support you in finding external services that can offer this and you have the option of booking further sessions.
Sessions last for 1 hour and will usually take place at the same time and day once a week or once every two weeks.
If you arrive late for a session, you will be able to meet with your counsellor for the remainder of your allotted time, but the session cannot be extended beyond this. We ask that you come to your session on time, and let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend.
Counselling is not a compulsory activity, and you are free to end your sessions at any time, but we would encourage you to discuss this with your counsellor first rather than just stopping attending.
This gives you an opportunity to reflect on any progress made and to talk with your counsellor about other forms of support that might be available.

Will my Sessions be Confidential?
This is a very important aspect of the counselling relationship. Everything that you discuss with your counsellor during counselling sessions will be treated as strictly confidential. We would never routinely disclose any information about your counselling to other professionals.
The only exception to this is when we are legally compelled to disclose information or when your counsellor has strong reason to believe that you, or a third party, maybe at risk of harm. In such cases, it may be necessary to inform others, such as a GP, of the situation, and wherever possible you would be consulted before any information is shared.
What information is recorded about me?
Counsellors are required to keep brief notes about your counselling sessions. These notes will not contain your name and are held securely. At the completion of counselling your notes will be kept in safe storage in accordance with GDPR for a 5 year period after which they will be destroyed.
I consider any appointment that you have made with me to be important.
Your appointment is for your exclusive use and when it is cancelled with short notice, or missed altogether, it is often too late or impossible to offer this time to someone else and the appointment time goes unfilled.
Please give as much notice as possible for cancellations/postponement.
Cancelling Paid Services
If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment time, you will be billed for 50% of the cost of your appointment.
